The purpose of a Funding Request is to help fund items for athletic equipment and facilities improvements that are supplemental to the District 113/DHS budget
- The funding request process is discussed annually by Athletic Director at all coaches meetings
- Funding requests are typically made twice a year (Fall and Winter); deadlines are provided to coaches.
- A funding request form is filled out by coaches and submitted to Athletic Director (AD). Examples of past funded items by the Booster Club, as well as general guidelines, are included on the funding request form. Funding requests are open to all 33 sports teams/coaches.
- Funding requests cannot originate from student-athletes, parents, or sports reps.
- The AD will review all funding requests received from coaches. The AD will determine which items will be submitted to the Booster Club to request full or partial funding approval.
- The AD submits approved requests to the Executive Board for a cursory review. This allows the Executive Board to ask questions in advance and make sure all needed details are included and all questions/concerns are answered before presentation to the Booster Club. This streamlines discussions at the Booster Club meeting and keeps the process efficient.
- The Executive Board will share the requests by the AD and coaches in advance of the Booster Club meeting to allow members to come prepared with questions.
- The funding requests will be an agenda item at the next booster club meeting.
- A motion is made, items are discussed, and then voting occurs. It is possible that all, some, or none of the requests will be approved.
- The AD notifies coaches of the outcome of the funding request(s) by the Booster Club.
